Barack Obama impersonator Louis Ortiz’s close natural resemblance to the President made him a media darling, and he made major television and media appearances on HBO’s Flight of the Conchords, Showtime’s Paulytics with Pauly Shore, NBC Universal’s The Maury Povich Show, Swedish TV’s Filip and Fredrik, Univision’s Despierta America, ESPN's Redes, and FOX News’ Stossel with John Stossel.
In addition to features by CNN’s The Situation Room with Wolf Blitzer, CBS's The Early Show, MTV Tr3s, The New York Times, New York Post, The New Yorker, Huffington Post, Bloomberg Businessweek, PBS’s Tavis Smiley, Journal de Montreal, BBC’s Outlook with Matthew Bannister, AISH.com, NBC Latino, and Washingtonian Magazine, Louis Ortiz was the subject of a full-size feature on the September 2012 cover of The Atlantic magazine, photographed by famed international artist Alison Jackson, which was accompanied by a fourteen-page story on the 2012 Presidential Election between President Barack Obama and Governor Mitt Romney.
Obama impersonator Louis Ortiz is also the subject of an upcoming documentary, The Audacity of Louis Ortiz, which raised over $25,000 on renowned crowd funding platform Kickstarter following Ortiz’s headline interview on NPR’s This American Life. The forthcoming release of the documentary has already resulted in a New York Times feature and a lengthy segment on CBS’s The Jeff Probst Show.
Louis Ortiz appeared in the Japanese feature film Saraba Itoshi no Daitouryou (Good Bye Dear President), commercials for Netherland-based Rabobank, South Korean satellite television provider Skylife, and multinational automotive giant Hyundai’s Times Square interactive billboard campaign. He has also guest starred in myISH’s The Hillywood Show, The Onion, MTV’s Matt’s Apartment, Four Shaw Entertainment’s Tomorrow: The Film, and Australian web series The Nobel Funk Off.
